Hours: Monday - Thursday  7:30 am - 3:30 pm

            Friday  7:30 am - 12:15 pm

 

Houly Rate: 

HS Student with less than one (1) year of experience - $14.00 

HS Student with morethan one (1) year of experience $14.25

HS curriculum related work students, (Lights & Sound, Technology, etc) $14.75

HS  Grads and Adult Bookstore workers- $15.75

 

 

Title: STUDENT WORKER

 

Reports To: Administrator

 

Purpose Statement

Assist the building administrator, secretary, other staff, programs or departments with secretarial, administrative and clerical support as needed.

 

Essential Functions

 

•  Provide clerical support to other individuals, departments, programs and/or offices. This may include phones, reception duties, typing, data entry, preparing memos, correspondence, bulletins, etc. Compiling and distributing material, brochures, etc.
• Operate switchboard in courteous and efficient manner.
• Maintain files in manner that ensures easy access to information.
• Maintain confidentiality of reports, records, correspondence, and communications when required to handle such materials

• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

• Enrolled in high school earning a 2.0 cumulative GPA
• Training in use of word processing software and initiative to learn other computer programs as required
• Knowledge of standard office practices and equipment
• Exhibit use of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation
• Professional attitude and good communication skills
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
• Ability to converse with members of the general public in a pleasant and effective manner
• Ability to quickly learn procedures used to report information and maintain records.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions. 

Responsibility

 

Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized routines; providing information; utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's team. 

 

Work Environment

 

The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing. The job is performed under some temperature extremes and in a generally hazard free environment.
